Alternatives

Inro alternatives, priced honestly

Inro charges for the people you activate each month, on a ladder that climbs 24 rungs. Here is what the ladder actually costs, and the tools people move to when they stop wanting one.

Table of contents

Almost everyone searching for an Inro alternative has hit the same wall, and it is not the product. It is the meter. Inro bills on activated contacts per month, auto-scaling through banded tiers, and the bands climb steeply: €12.99 at 101 to 500 activated contacts, €49.99 at 2,001 to 3,000, €149.99 at 9,001 to 10,000. A post that does better than usual moves you up a band, so a good month costs more than a quiet one.

The other wall is the free plan. Inro's Free tier is genuinely useful for managing an audience, with unlimited CRM contacts, but it stops at 100 activated contacts a month, 3 active automations and 3 campaigns a month. Three automations is the cap most people meet first.

None of that makes Inro a bad tool. Their content library is the best in the category, their feature set is deeper than ours, and if you activate a predictable number of contacts the band you sit in may be perfectly fair. Read this list for fit, and for what each tool rations instead.

One thing before the list: we make inDM, one of the tools here. Every entry is factual and dated, our own pitch sits in its own marked box, and the tools that beat us on something are described as beating us on it. Read it with exactly that context.

The list

GRO.co

Plus $30/mo (up to 15K followers), scaling to $200 at 3M followers · flat plan

BEST FOR  Anyone leaving specifically because of the activation meter

GRO.co is the cleanest answer to Inro's pricing shape, because it prices on follower count rather than on anything you do. Activate 200 contacts or 20,000 and the bill is identical. Under 15,000 followers the plan is free at any sending volume, which is the most generous entry point on this list for a small, engaged audience.

Consider it if: You have swapped one meter for another that runs on a different number. The bill rises as your audience grows rather than as you send: Plus goes $30 to $60 at 500K followers and $100 at 2M. Their free tier also carries GRO branding, and removing it means Plus at $30.

CreatorFlow

Pro $15/mo (5,000 DMs); Growth $30/mo (10,000 DMs) · flat plan

BEST FOR  People who liked Inro's philosophy and want the same thing at a flat price

CreatorFlow is the closest match to what Inro is trying to be: Instagram only, automation anchored to your actual content, a large library of ready-made plays, and a Rewind feature that replays comments from before you set anything up. Their paid plan is flat at $30 a month rather than banded.

Consider it if: That $30 buys 10,000 DMs, so there is still a limit, it is a ceiling instead of a ladder. Their free tier is 500 DMs a month forever, which is a better free shape than Inro's 3 automations for most people who mainly want to send.

ManyChat

Essential $17/mo (250 active contacts); Pro $39/mo (2,500) · priced per contact

BEST FOR  People whose favourite part of Inro was the AI agent and the flow depth

If what you valued was the AI answering on your behalf, the integrations and the branching logic, ManyChat is the deeper version of all three, plus Messenger, WhatsApp, TikTok, Telegram, SMS and email alongside Instagram. Years of community answers sit behind it.

Consider it if: Read this one carefully, because it is the same billing shape you are leaving. ManyChat prices per monthly active contact across five plans gated on channels, seats and contacts, so a good month still costs more than a quiet one. The free tier covers 25 active contacts a month, which is a look around rather than a starting plan.

InstantDM

Legend Pro $12/mo month-to-month ($9.99/mo billed yearly) · flat plan

BEST FOR  Teams who were using Inro's developer tools to wire it into their own systems

Inro's upper plans are unusual in this category for letting you connect the tool to your own software directly. InstantDM is the main alternative that does the same on a published plan rather than a custom deal, and their sending is marketed as unlimited, with a free forever tier at 500 DMs a month.

Consider it if: Their pricing page defaults to the yearly toggle, so the $9.99 you see first is the annual rate and month to month is $12. Their "unlimited" is also qualified in their own table as 750 an hour, which is Meta's own platform ceiling rather than something the product adds.

ReplyRush

Lite $10/mo (₹900): 7,500 DMs, 1 Instagram account, branding stays · priced per DM sent

BEST FOR  People outside the eurozone, and anyone who needs Facebook alongside Instagram

Inro bills in euros only, which makes the bands land differently depending on where you are. ReplyRush publishes USD and INR side by side (₹0 / ₹900 / ₹2,100 / ₹8,400) and includes Facebook accounts at parity with Instagram on every tier. At Boost, $25 buys 40,000 DMs.

Consider it if: Their free tier excludes comment auto-reply and the follow gate entirely, branding stays through Lite, and triggers are capped per account at 5 / 20 / 50 / 500 by tier. Check what your tier is allowed to do, not only what it costs.

Where inDM fits

Where inDM fits. One plan, one price, and no meter of any kind. Not messages, not contacts, not activations, not followers. The free tier is generous rather than a trimmed demo: every automation type, unlimited keywords, unlimited messages, the follow and email gates, automation and audience analytics, the unified inbox, contacts and export, and a live DM preview before anything goes out. No card. It connects one Instagram account.

Growth adds the things you want once your DMs start closing: it removes app branding, connects unlimited Instagram accounts, takes the limit off how many automations you keep, carries multiple links in one DM, sends a follow-up message hours after the first, lets an automation wait for a post you have not published yet, broadcasts one message to your audience, opens the workspace to your team, and shows you who clicks your links and the countries they came from. That is $4.99 for your first month, then $14.99, billed in USD at the same price wherever you are.

The comparison that matters against Inro. At 3,000 activated contacts a month Inro Pro is €49.99. At 10,000 it is €149.99. inDM is $14.99 at both, and at 100,000, because there is no number we count. If your activation volume is small and steady, Inro's band may cost you less than our flat price, and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise.

Who should not pick us. Anyone who needs an AI agent answering on their behalf, payments taken inside the DM, an integrations marketplace, A/B testing, surveys, role based access, or a way to wire the tool into their own software. Inro ships all of those today and we ship none of them. That is a real gap and it is theirs. If you need multi-channel, ManyChat. If you want a free tier that covers any volume under 15,000 followers, GRO.co. If you want the lowest cost per DM at high volume, check LinkDM before you check us.

How we made this list

Inro's figures were read from their own pricing page on 22 September 2026, in a browser rather than a scraper, because the page renders client-side. The band prices come from driving Inro's own cost calculator through all 24 of its options and recording what each returned, so they are their numbers rather than our arithmetic. The top option, more than 100,000 contacts a month, does not return a usable figure, so we have not quoted one.

Figures for CreatorFlow, ManyChat, InstantDM, GRO.co and ReplyRush were read from each vendor's own pricing page on 14 August 2026 and are older than the Inro numbers. inDM's own figures are as of 22 September 2026. Prices change and several of these pages default to a discounted billing toggle, so verify before you commit.

And plainly: we build inDM, a competitor to everything on this list. Treat this as an informed and interested party's map, not a neutral referee's. If something here is out of date, use the contact link and we will fix it with the date noted.

Good to know

Questions, answered plainly

Why do people look for an Inro alternative?

Usually the pricing shape rather than the product. Inro bills on contacts activated per month through auto-scaling bands, so a post that performs better than usual moves you up a rung and the bill follows. The second reason is the free plan's cap of 3 active automations and 3 campaigns a month, which most people meet before they meet the 100 activated contacts limit.

How much does Inro actually cost as you grow?

Their own calculator, read on 22 September 2026, returns €12.99 at 101 to 500 activated contacts a month, €19.99 at 501 to 1,000, €29.99 at 1,001 to 1,500, €49.99 at 2,001 to 3,000, €79.99 at 4,001 to 5,000, €149.99 at 9,001 to 10,000, €339.99 at 20,001 to 25,000 and €999.99 at 70,001 to 100,000. Above that the calculator does not return a usable price. Their Annual Pro is €1,249 a year for 10,000 or more a month, which is worth noting: €149.99 twelve times is €1,799.88, and €1,800 is exactly the crossed-out price they show next to it.

Which Inro alternatives do not meter contacts?

inDM counts nothing at all, so neither messages nor contacts nor activations affect the bill. GRO.co meters nothing you do either, though it prices on follower count instead, so the bill still moves as your audience grows. CreatorFlow is flat at $30 but caps DMs at 10,000. Everything else on this list meters something.

Does Inro have a free plan?

Yes, and it is a real one. €0 for 100 activated contacts a month, unlimited contacts in the CRM, 3 active automations, 3 campaigns a month, 10 folders, one team member and 50 AI agent credits. The Pro plan also has a 14 day free trial. Checked 22 September 2026.

Is Inro better than inDM?

On depth, today, yes in several places. Their AI agent, payments in DMs, integrations marketplace, A/B testing and developer tools have no equivalent from us, and their content library is the best in the category. Where we differ is the bill: one price that does not move, and a free plan with no message limit and no automation limit. Both are free to start, so the honest test is building the same automation in each.
