What is an ig.me link?
Instagram's official deep link for DMs: ig.me/m/yourusername opens a message thread with you directly. The ?text= parameter prefills the person's message.
Why would I want people DMing instead of visiting my profile?
A DM is a conversation, not a browse. Paired with a keyword automation, the link becomes a funnel: they arrive, the prefilled keyword sends, your automation answers with the link or offer instantly.
Do chat links work for everyone?
The person needs the Instagram app and your DMs must be open to non-followers for strangers to use it (Settings → Messages). The tool's second output — your profile link — is the fallback for everyone else.
