Moving day

Stop paying for followers

GRO.co bills on audience size; inDM bills on messages sent. Whether that saves you money depends on a ratio — here's how to work out yours before you move.

The pricing delta

GRO.co, checked 2026-08-14. Free for accounts under 15,000 followers with unlimited posts and GRO branding on messages. Plus $30/mo, rising to $60 at 500K followers, $100 at 2M and $200 at 3M. Pro $80/mo, rising $110 / $150 / $250 on the same bands. Annual saves $60 on Plus, $160 on Pro.

inDM, as of 2026-08-12. Free forever at 1,000 messages a month, then Growth at $9.99 for 10,000 or $19.99 for 30,000, plus $1 per extra 1,000. Follower count is never read.

Work out your ratio before you move, because this one genuinely goes both ways. Take your monthly DM volume and your follower count.

If you have a large audience and send modestly, inDM is cheaper — at 120,000 followers sending 4,000 DMs a month, GRO Plus is $30 and inDM is $9.99, because your 120,000 followers are not an input to our bill.

If you have a small audience and send heavily, GRO is cheaper — at 12,000 followers sending 40,000 DMs a month, GRO is $0 and inDM is $19.99 plus overage. Under 15,000 followers their plan is free at any volume, and we are not going to beat free.

The one thing that does not show up in that arithmetic: on GRO's free tier your messages carry GRO branding, and removing it costs $30. On inDM there is no badge at any tier unless you switch it on.

Moving day, step by step

Run the ratio first

Divide your monthly DM volume by your follower count. If you are under 15,000 followers, GRO is free at any volume and switching for price alone makes no sense. If you have a large audience and send modestly, inDM will usually be cheaper — check both against your own last three months.

Check what you'd be giving up

Broadcast DMs, Klaviyo, and Amazon and Facebook deep links are GRO Pro features that inDM does not have. Broadcast DMs in particular are something we deliberately do not build. If any of those are load-bearing, stay.

Connect Instagram to inDM

Sign up and connect through Instagram's own login — inDM never sees your password. Connect every account you run; there is no cap and no per-account charge.

Rebuild, verify, then retire

Open My Content, pick the post, set the keyword and write the DM — the live preview renders it exactly as Instagram will. Keep GRO connected while you verify, pausing each of their automations as its inDM replacement goes live.

What you gain
  • A bill that does not rise when your audience does
  • No branding on your messages at any tier, unless you switch it on for the free-send trade
  • One plan at two volumes instead of two tiers across four audience bands
  • Follow-gate prompts that are never billed
  • No cap on connected Instagram accounts
Keep in mind
  • Under 15,000 followers, GRO.co is free at any sending volume. If that's you and you send heavily, staying is the cheaper call.
  • No broadcast DMs. GRO ships them on Pro; inDM deliberately does not build them.
  • No Klaviyo, Amazon or Facebook deep-link integrations.
  • GRO's free tier carries GRO branding on messages — worth factoring in alongside the price.
  • Figures checked 2026-08-14 (GRO.co) and 2026-08-12 (inDM).
Good to know

Questions, answered plainly

Should I switch from GRO.co to inDM?

Only if your audience is large relative to your sending. GRO is free under 15,000 followers at any volume, so a small account that sends heavily should stay. A creator at 120,000 followers sending 4,000 DMs a month pays $30 on GRO Plus and $9.99 on inDM, because we never read the follower count.

Does inDM charge more as my following grows?

No. Follower count is not an input to our billing at any point. The only thing that moves the bill is how many messages you actually sent — an account at 2,000 followers and one at 2,000,000 pay the same for the same volume.

What do I lose moving from GRO.co?

Broadcast DMs, Klaviyo, and Amazon and Facebook deep links. Broadcast DMs are a deliberate omission on our side rather than something we are building toward, so if broadcasting to existing contacts is central to how you sell, GRO does something inDM will not.
