The best Instagram giveaway tool depends on the job: drawing from a list you already have, loading comments from your post, or running a contest on a separate page. Free tools cover the first. The cheapest monthly plans we read cost $9.99 to $29, per each vendor's own page on 14 October 2026.

What app should I use for an Instagram giveaway?

Pick by job, not by brand. There are three jobs, and a fourth that comes before them:

  • Draw from a list you already have: the free picker on this site, Wheel of Names, and the List Randomizer on random.org.
  • Load the comments from your post, then draw: Comment Picker and Easypromos.
  • Run a contest on a page, with entry actions beyond a comment: Woobox, Gleam and Easypromos.
  • Collect the entries in the first place: inDM does this by DM, covered below.

Every fact below comes from the vendor's own site, read on 14 October 2026, and prices can change. We did not test any tool's draw, and we give no ratings or rankings.

Which free Instagram giveaway picker should I use?

Use the one that matches the list you hold. If you have usernames, the inDM picker and Wheel of Names ask for no Instagram login. Ours removes repeats, leaves out accounts you name, draws winners and alternates in one go, and stamps the draw time. Wheel of Names suits a spin you can show on screen, and its home page says all its premium features are free without paywalls. It can import a list from Google Sheets.

random.org's List Randomizer shuffles up to 10,000 items using atmospheric noise, and its form asks you not to enter anything confidential. Its paid Third-Party Draw Service runs the draw for you from $4.95 of prepaid credit, and winners and losers can check the result for at least five years.

Comment Picker has a free plan too, but it needs a login and reads at most 100 comments. A giveaway with 300 comments is outside it unless you pay.

Which tools load my comments for me?

Two of them: Comment Picker and Easypromos, and both ask you to connect your Instagram account first. Comment Picker says it supports organic comments on posts and Reels, requires a Business or Creator account, and sets its free plan at one post, 100 comments and one winner. Premium at $9.99 a month lifts those limits and allows up to 10 winners.

Easypromos says it imports comments through Meta's official API, applies your participation rules and exclusions, and picks winners and alternates at random. Its first Instagram giveaway is free. After that, Basic at $29 a month handles up to 5,000 comments and Basic Pro at $49 a month has no comment limit.

The tools describe their randomness differently. Comment Picker says it uses a pseudorandom number generator, random.org says its numbers come from atmospheric noise, and ours uses your browser's secure generator. Those are each tool's own statements, not tests.

Which tools run a contest on a page?

Woobox, Gleam and Easypromos collect entries on their own pages, so people can enter by more than a comment. Woobox's pricing page lists a free plan with 100 submissions a month, Basic at $29 and Pro at $79 a month, and its home page lists sweepstakes, photo contests and instant wins among its templates.

Gleam's home page offers free sign-up with no credit card. Its pricing page frames plans by how many winners a competition can have, from 15 up to 500, but its price cards did not load when we read it, so we give no figure.

More ways to enter means more to track. In the UK, the ASA expects a promoter to be able to track every entry method it offers, and says a method it cannot track should not be used. The giveaway rules page has the detail.

Can I collect entries by DM instead?

Yes, for entries that arrive as comments. You ask people to comment one keyword under the giveaway post, and comment-to-DM automation in inDM sends each one a confirmation, which can carry a link to your rules. The contacts list exports as a CSV, and its Instagram handle column goes straight into a picker. The Free plan includes all of this, and how to run an Instagram giveaway with comment automation has the steps.

inDM does not pick the winner. Instagram allows one private reply per comment, within 7 days of it, so a comment older than that cannot be confirmed. It sees comments only, so shares, reposts and story mentions are not entries it can count.

Where this stops working

We read vendor pages and tested none of these tools, so nothing here is a verdict on how well any of them works. Gleam's price is missing because its page did not show it. Tools change prices and limits without telling anyone, so check the page before you pay. No tool makes a giveaway lawful, since Instagram makes you responsible for that, and none of the randomness statements above replaces the evidence a regulator may ask for.

Choose the job first, then the cheapest tool that does it.
