Instagram DM automation costs $0 to about $30 a month. Paid entry plans cluster between $9.99 and $19: inDM and InstantDM at $9.99, ReplyRush $10, Zorcha $14.99, CreatorFlow $15, ManyChat $17, LinkDM $19. The price is the easy part — each of those numbers is measured in a different unit, so the plans are not comparable as listed.
Below is what eleven tools charge, what each one counts, and what the same 10,000 delivered DMs costs at each. Every figure was read off the vendor's own pricing page on the date shown beside it.

Three more tools sell into this category at higher prices and to a different buyer — they are covered in the boundary section at the end rather than mixed into a creator comparison.
What does each tool actually meter?
Six different units across eleven tools, which is why the column of prices above cannot be read as a ranking.
- Messages sent — inDM, CreatorFlow, LinkDM, ReplyRush. You buy an allowance of outbound DMs. The most predictable unit, and the easiest to run out of on a good day.
- Contacts per month — ManyChat, Inro. One person counts once for the month however many messages you exchange. Both reset monthly, so a quiet month genuinely costs less.
- AI credits — Zorcha. DMs are uncapped on every tier; what you buy is AI reply consumption.
- Leads captured — SuperProfile. AutoDMs are unlimited even on the free plan; the free ceiling is 10 captured leads.
- Follower count — GRO.co. Usage is unlimited and the band is set by your audience size.
- Messages across every channel — BotPenguin. Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram and website chat all draw on one allowance, and AI-answered messages draw on it too.
Two of the eleven publish no usable number at all. InstantDM's paid plans are sold as unlimited, with the comparison table qualifying it as 750 an hour — which is Meta's own published private-reply ceiling, so it is the platform's limit restated rather than a plan limit. Chatfuel's paid plan includes unlimited active contacts and bounds usage with what it calls fair-use AI limits, publishing no numeric threshold anywhere; the ceiling is described only as designed to fit most businesses (read 2026-08-08). In both cases the absence of a number is itself the thing to know before you plan around it.
What does 10,000 DMs a month actually cost?
Between $0 and $99, and the ranking is not the same as the ranking of entry prices.
This is the cheapest plan at each tool that covers 10,000 outbound DMs in a month:
| Tool | Cheapest plan covering 10,000 DMs | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Zorcha | Free — DMs uncapped, 3 automations | $0 |
| SuperProfile | Starter — unlimited AutoDMs on Reels and Posts | $0 |
| GRO.co | Free, if you are under 15K followers | $0 |
| inDM | Growth — 10,000 DMs | $9.99 |
| InstantDM | Legend Pro | $9.99 |
| LinkDM | Pro — 25,000 DMs | $19 |
| ReplyRush | Boost — 40,000 DMs (Lite tops out at 7,500) | $25 |
| CreatorFlow | Growth — 10,000 DMs | $30 |
| BotPenguin | King — 12,000 messages (Little tops out at 3,000) | $99 |
ManyChat and Inro are deliberately absent from that table, and the reason is the point of this page: they do not sell DMs. There is no honest conversion from 10,000 messages to a contact count, because the number of contacts behind 10,000 messages depends entirely on how many messages each person receives. Anyone who publishes that conversion has guessed at it.
Per 1,000 DMs, the same figures come out like this — and the order changes again at higher volumes, because the tools that look expensive at 10,000 sell much larger allowances:
| Plan | Per 1,000 DMs |
|---|---|
| ReplyRush MAX — $100 / 400,000 | $0.25 |
| LinkDM Platinum+ — $99 / 300,000 | $0.33 |
| ReplyRush Boost — $25 / 40,000 | $0.63 |
| inDM Growth — $19.99 / 30,000 | $0.67 |
| LinkDM Pro — $19 / 25,000 | $0.76 |
| inDM Growth — $9.99 / 10,000 | $1.00 |
| ReplyRush Lite — $10 / 7,500 | $1.33 |
| CreatorFlow — $15 / 5,000 and $30 / 10,000 | $3.00 |
| BotPenguin King — $99 / 12,000 | $8.25 |
| BotPenguin Little — $29 / 3,000 | $9.67 |
Why the cheapest plan is not always the cheapest month
Because a DM allowance is not a conversation allowance, and because the things you assumed were included often are not.
A delivered link costs two DMs, not one. Instagram will not let a tool send a link cold. The sequence is an opener with a button, then the link once the person taps it — that is how the private reply mechanism works, and every tool in this category has the same shape underneath. So a 10,000-DM allowance is roughly 5,000 completed link deliveries, and any plan priced per message should be read at about half its face value.
Removing the vendor's branding is often the paid upgrade. LinkDM, ReplyRush and GRO.co all put their own name on the message your audience receives and remove it on a paid tier. That is a real cost of a free plan, paid by your audience rather than by you.
Triggers and gates can be missing rather than throttled. ReplyRush's free plan has no comment auto-reply and no follow gate at all. BotPenguin's free plan has no Instagram DM automation whatsoever — that starts at $29 a month. A free tier that excludes the feature you came for is not a smaller version of the product.
The ceiling arrives mid-conversation. An allowance is sized for a normal month. The month a post outperforms is the month it runs out, and the people who commented after that are the ones who never hear back.
What does inDM cost?
$0 for 1,000 messages a month with no card, $9.99 for 10,000, and $19.99 for 30,000, then $1 per extra 1,000 above that.
Every feature is on every row — every automation type, unlimited automations and keywords, the follow gate, full analytics, the unified inbox. The number is the only thing that changes, so there is no tier to decode and nothing to regret picking. Going over 10,000 moves you to $19.99, which is a price already printed on the page rather than an open meter.
A message is each DM inDM sends on your behalf, so a converted comment costs two. Follow-gate prompts are not counted. And an automation carrying the Powered by inDM button sends unmetered — that is opt-in, set per automation, and off by default. The full terms are on our pricing page.
Where this page stops working
inDM is not the cheapest per DM at volume, and the table above shows it. At high allowances ReplyRush ($0.63 at 40,000, $0.25 at 400,000) and LinkDM ($0.76 at 25,000, $0.33 at 300,000) both beat us. What we are is the cheapest entry point at $9.99 and the simplest plan to forecast. If you send hundreds of thousands of DMs a month, the per-unit arithmetic favours them, and no amount of framing changes that.
Three tools were left out of the creator comparison on purpose. Spur runs $12 to $399 a month and is a WhatsApp-first commerce platform where Instagram is one channel of several. Chatfuel is $49 a month with unlimited active contacts and an unpublished fair-use ceiling. BotPenguin appears above but belongs here too — it is a multi-channel chatbot builder, and its $29 entry buys 3,000 messages across every platform, not 3,000 Instagram DMs. All three are priced for a business buyer, and listing them beside a $9.99 creator plan would flatter the creator plans rather than inform anyone.
One tool has no current figure, so it gets no number here. Inflowave is a seat-priced sales CRM with automations attached, and we last read its pricing on 2026-07-01. That is old enough that quoting it would be guessing, so we have not.
Currencies are not converted. Inro prices in euros, ReplyRush lists rupees beside dollars. The figures above are as each vendor states them.
And pricing is the fastest-decaying thing on this page. We know that specifically: in August 2026 we re-read four competitors' pricing pages and found two of our own long-standing claims about how they bill were simply wrong, which voided the argument of a whole post. Every row here carries the date it was read. If you are reading this months later, open the pricing pages yourself — including ours.
The short version
Almost everything in this category has a usable free tier, paid starts around $9.99, and $30 a month buys a creator more DMs than they are likely to send. The number that matters is not the price on the card but the unit behind it — so work out what you send in a busy month, halve any DM allowance to get real conversations, and compare the plans in that unit.
If you would rather not pay yet, what the free tiers actually include covers most of these tools at $0, and what each free plan leaves out. For a single vendor in depth, how much ManyChat costs works through its contact meter with a worked example, and the ManyChat, CreatorFlow and Inro comparisons each carry that vendor's pricing with the date we read it.
