The Instagram professional dashboard is the hub on a Business or Creator account that holds your insights, ad tools, creator tools and learning resources. Open your profile and tap Professional dashboard. If it is not there, tap More to reach Settings and activity, and tap Insights below For professionals. On instagram.com, choose Dashboard in the left-hand menu.

Every menu path and limit below comes from Instagram's Help Center and Instagram for Creators, read on 13 October 2026.

Where is the professional dashboard on Instagram?

The professional dashboard sits on your own profile as a Professional dashboard button, and in your settings under Insights. Instagram's Help Center gives these routes.

In the app:

  1. Tap your profile picture in the bottom right to open your profile.
  2. Tap Professional dashboard.
  3. If you do not see it on your profile, tap More to go to Settings and activity, then tap Insights below For professionals.

On instagram.com:

  1. Select Dashboard from the left-hand menu.
  2. Select Insights below For professionals.
  3. From the Insights dropdown menu, choose Account or Content, then use the dropdown to set the date range: the last 7, 14, 30 or 90 days, or a custom range inside the past 90 days.

If you have a personal account, the button reads Your dashboard, and you find it below Your insights and tools. Instagram for Creators also points to Meta Business Suite, which manages content across Facebook and Instagram from one place, as another place to track performance.

What is the Instagram dashboard, and is it the same as the professional dashboard?

The Instagram dashboard is the umbrella name: the Help Center calls dashboards centralized hubs available to all public accounts, and the professional dashboard is the version for Business and Creator accounts. A public personal account gets Your dashboard instead.

Instagram for Creators said on 26 February 2026 that all public accounts now have a set of foundational tools and insights, including a dashboard to see how content performs. It said a professional account adds monetization and business features, and that features such as trial reels and channels open up as you reach milestones. Instagram's Help Center adds that the tools in a dashboard vary by account type, region and eligibility.

The differences between the two professional types are in creator vs business account if you are choosing one, and our glossary entry on a professional account gives the short version.

What does the professional dashboard show?

The professional dashboard shows your performance, your tools and Instagram's learning resources in one place. The Help Center groups it in three parts.

Track your performance

  • Key insights and trends for your content and account, including reach, engagement and audience demographics.
  • A summary of the last 30 days, with a See all insights option for more detailed metrics.
  • A way to see how content is doing and what engages your audience.
  • For professional accounts, Ad tools, where you can create and review ads and see their insights.

Your tools

  • Creator tools such as Subscriptions, the branded content tool, partnership ads and payouts.
  • Business tools such as Frequently asked questions and ads.
  • Additional insights on monetization. Where these tools live in the settings menu is covered in Instagram creator tools and controls.

Stay informed

  • Recommendations for new features and tools as they become available to you.
  • Educational resources, tips and best practices curated by Instagram.
  • Guides, inspiration and case studies from the @creators and @instagramforbusiness teams, and posts and ads from similar businesses and creators for ideas.

Inside Insights, the overview shows Views, Interactions, New followers and Content you shared. Tap any one for more detail, and tap the (i) in the top right corner to see what a metric means. Our page on what each Instagram metric means goes through the definitions.

Why is the professional dashboard not showing?

The professional dashboard is missing when the account is personal or private, when you are in a different account, or when the feature is not available to you yet. Work through these in order.

  1. You have a personal account. The button reads Your dashboard, not Professional dashboard. To get the professional one, tap More, open Settings and activity, tap Account type and tools below For professionals, tap Switch to professional account, choose your category, and choose Creator or Business. The category you pick does not decide which type you get. Our guide to switching to a professional account has the steps.
  2. Your account is private. Instagram's Help Center says to make sure your account is public. Switching a private account to professional makes it public and accepts every pending follow request, and professional accounts cannot be set to private.
  3. It is not on your profile. Open Settings and activity and look for Insights below For professionals, as above.
  4. You are in a different account. Instagram lets you stay logged in to up to 10 accounts at once, and the dashboard depends on the type of the account that is open. Check which one you are in.
  5. The feature is not available to you. The Help Center says the tools in dashboards vary by account type, region and eligibility.

If the dashboard opens but one section is empty, that is a different problem:

  • Audience demographics are blank. They need preset timeframes and more than 100 accounts reached or engaged. If the last 7 days is empty, Instagram suggests the last 30 days, the previous month or the last 90 days.
  • Follower details are blank. The followers insight needs at least 100 followers.
  • Past insights are missing. Instagram says you may not see past insights if you recently switched to a professional account.

Where this stops working

  • Instagram's articles disagree. One Help Center article still says insights are only for businesses and accounts with high levels of engagement, while the dashboard and insights articles say any public account can use them. We follow the dashboard article and the February 2026 post from Instagram for Creators, which both say public accounts get a dashboard.
  • The time window is limited. Account insights cover any period within the past 90 days. Post and story insights reach back up to two years, and reel insights up to two years for reels posted on or after 14 May 2021.
  • Some metrics vary by region. Instagram's Insights articles carry a notice that certain messaging related metrics, ad campaigns and organic messaging features for businesses and ads delivered to and from Europe and Japan will be unavailable.
  • It counts attention, not conversations. The pages we read list no metric for people who message you after a post or for what they did next.
  • Some guides describe extras we could not find. Third party articles mention a competitor benchmarking tool in the dashboard. We found it on none of Instagram's pages, so we leave it out.
  • We did not find an app update fix. Instagram's Help Center pages on the dashboard do not mention updating the app, so we do not list it as a cause.
  • We read pages, not a live account. Labels and menu order in your app may differ, and Instagram changes them without notice.

Now you know where the dashboard lives, why it can be missing, and what it does and does not tell you. Insights stops at the comment, and inDM picks up from there by sending each person who comments your keyword your link by DM.
