ShopMy is an invite-based platform where creators turn product recommendations into commission links and a storefront. To join you apply to its waitlist: ShopMy's help center says it usually looks for 1,000 or more followers, reviews applications case by case in about 3 to 5 business days, and pays commission every Friday once at least $11 is ready.
Everything below comes from ShopMy's own pages, read on 13 October 2026: its help center, its creator pages and its Terms of Service, last revised 16 September 2026. ShopMy can change all of them, and its help articles carry different update dates, so treat the read date as a stamp, not a promise.
What is ShopMy?
ShopMy is a creator tool for earning from recommendations. Its help center says you turn products you recommend into commissionable links, share them across platforms to earn when followers shop, and build a reputation that lets you collaborate with brands. The same site has a shopper side, where people follow curators and browse their picks, but this page covers the creator side.
How does ShopMy work?
You get accepted, add products, share the links and get paid when a purchase clears. In more detail:
- Add a product. ShopMy lists three ways to make a commissionable link: search its catalog, paste a product address from a retailer's website, or use Snapshop on mobile or desktop. Whichever you use, ShopMy converts a commissionable product into a ShopMy affiliate link.
- Organize a storefront. A shop is built from sections that hold collections of products. ShopMy says you can also create a collection for your social media and pull posts straight from your Instagram feed.
- Share a Quick Link when you want one item. A Quick Link is a standalone product link in the form go.shopmy.us/p-123456, and ShopMy suggests it for a single item in a story, newsletter or conversation.
- Work with brands. The help center describes chat, gifted product, collaborations and Opportunities with brand partners, alongside commission on your own links.
- Move up the tiers. ShopMy ranks creators as Enthusiast, Ambassador, Trendsetter or Icon, and says the tiers bring small cash bonuses, more platform features and deeper support at the top. After Enthusiast, the score leans on traffic and order volume.
Who can join ShopMy?
Anyone can apply, and ShopMy decides each application. Its help center says ShopMy is invite based: you apply through the Creator Waitlist at shopmy.us/apply/creator or inside the app, and approving or ending an account is at ShopMy's sole discretion, according to its terms. Applications are usually reviewed within 3 to 5 business days, and an approval arrives by email with an invitation code.
Accounts usually need 1,000 or more followers to activate a shop. ShopMy also says every application is judged case by case, on evidence that you share products, an engaged audience and, ideally, work with brands. A referral link from an existing creator adds context but does not guarantee approval. If you are turned down you can reapply after 90 days. You do not need to be in the United States: the help center says ShopMy has creators worldwide, and an Add by URL feature lets you link any retailer anywhere.
How does ShopMy pay creators?
ShopMy pays a share of the commission each retailer pays, weekly. Its payment guide, updated 21 July 2026, gives the pieces:
- Rate. Commission usually ranges from 10% to 30% depending on the brand or retailer. Each retailer sets its own, rates can change, and the terms call them estimates.
- What you keep. ShopMy says it earns by keeping 18% of commissions, so you keep 82% and the rate shown already reflects that split, or by charging the brand, in which case you keep the full rate. A second help article says the advertised rate is the gross figure and your payout is your share, so read the amount beside each order in your dashboard.
- What it is calculated on. The order subtotal after discounts, without shipping or tax. Sale items, gift cards and some third-party products can be excluded.
- Cookie window. Each brand sets its own, from a single browsing session up to 30 days, and ShopMy says 7 days is common. Most affiliate programs credit the last eligible click.
- Pending, then locked. A commission stays pending until the retailer's return window closes and the retailer pays ShopMy, which ShopMy says usually takes 30 to 120 days. The commission then moves to locked and joins the next payout.
- Payout. Weekly on Fridays, to PayPal or Stripe, once your next payment balance reaches $11.
Retailers can reverse an order for returns, cancellations, self-purchases or suspected fraud, and the terms say ShopMy pays only after the retailer has paid it.
How do you use ShopMy on Instagram?
Connect your account, then put the links where people are already asking. ShopMy's help center says connecting Instagram takes three steps: switch to a Creator or Business account, link a Business Facebook Page, then connect inside ShopMy (article updated 14 November 2025). From there, ShopMy's own Instagram advice is to:
- post a Story with the product link each time you mention a product in a Reel or post;
- invite questions with a Q&A sticker and answer with a Story that carries the direct link;
- save category Highlights so new visitors can shop later;
- answer a "what is that?" comment or DM with the specific product link, not only a pointer to your bio.
Instagram's Help Center, read 12 October 2026, says a profile can hold up to five links, so your ShopMy storefront can sit beside the others. For the comment-and-DM advice, see the section below.
What rules apply to ShopMy creators?
Disclose every link, and stay out of the promotion methods the terms ban. The detail is in ShopMy's Terms of Service:
- Disclosure. Follow the FTC's guidance on endorsements, with a clear disclosure such as #ad or #sponsored at or near the beginning of the content, in the same format as the content.
- Banned promotion. Paid search or pay-per-click ads that promote your tie to ShopMy or its merchants, bidding on brand keywords, and sharing commissionable discount codes on outside discount sites. A breach of the code rule can mean a permanent ban and reversed commission.
- Software. The terms bar building or using software, apps or browser extensions that interact with, alter or relate to ShopMy's services without its written consent.
- Confidentiality. Commission rates and other non-public information you receive count as confidential, which is why this page quotes only the range ShopMy publishes.
Can I send ShopMy links by DM with comment automation?
Instagram allows the mechanics in general: someone comments a keyword, and the automation replies in public and sends one private message with a link, within 7 days of the comment. ShopMy's own Instagram guide goes further. The guide suggests a keyword trigger, naming ManyChat, so anyone who comments LINK or SHOP gets the ShopMy link by DM. That guide is undated, and the terms do not mention direct messages. Three things to settle:
- Whether a rewritten link is allowed. inDM swaps each link it delivers for an address on its own redirect domain, which is how it counts taps, then forwards the person on (how that tracking works). A ShopMy link already tracks through ShopMy, and we have not tested, or asked ShopMy, whether the extra step changes how a sale is credited.
- The software clause. The ban on software that interacts with its services is broad, and it most plausibly targets tools that touch ShopMy itself. A tool that only delivers a link you pasted is a question to put to ShopMy, not one the terms answer.
- Disclosure comes first in the message. Open the DM with #ad or a plain line saying you earn commission, and keep it on the public post too. Leave the follow and email gates off until ShopMy says otherwise, since the terms mention neither.
Write to creatorsupport@shopmy.us, the address on every help article. If the answer is yes, setup is ordinary: follow the comment-to-DM setup guide and see how affiliate creators run it. The same questions come up for the Walmart Creator program, Target's programs and Mavely, which has no application.
Where this stops working
- No rate card. ShopMy publishes a range, and per-brand rates are shown inside the platform. The terms treat them as confidential.
- Two answers on your share. One help article says the shown rate is yours and another says your payout is your share, so we cannot say which applies to a given brand.
- Slow money. A commission can wait 30 to 120 days before it is locked, and a retailer can reverse it before then.
- Entry is not guaranteed. The 1,000-follower figure is a guide, not a promise, and ShopMy publishes no acceptance rate.
- DMs are unanswered. Nothing in the terms addresses links sent by direct message, and nothing here is ShopMy's answer.
- Dates vary. The help articles we used were updated between November 2025 and August 2026, and the Instagram guide carries no date.
Reading ShopMy's own pages first shows what the waitlist asks for, how long money takes to arrive, and the questions to settle before a ShopMy link goes into a DM.
