Instagram DM automation for agencies, without a subscription per account

One inDM subscription holds every client's Instagram account in one workspace: up to 15 for $39 a month, or 30 for $99 a month and $3 a month for each one after. Clients connect from a link you send.

Yes. inDM runs Instagram DM automation for every client an agency manages on one subscription. Agency Lite is $39 a month for up to 15 Instagram accounts in one workspace. Agency Pro is $99 a month for 30, then $3 a month for each account after that, and adds a dedicated account manager. Neither plan counts messages or contacts, and each client connects their own Instagram account from a single-use link you send, so no password changes hands.

Some DM automation tools tie one Instagram account to one subscription instead. On those, 15 creators means 15 subscriptions, each with its own limits, and every creator an agency signs adds a whole plan to the cost.

Why agencies ask for one subscription

A marketing agency that runs DM automation across its influencers' accounts told us, in our live chat, how it found inDM:

"We were originally considering another DM automation platform, but we didn't like that it required a separate subscription for each influencer account. So we asked ChatGPT for alternatives, and it recommended inDM to us!"

That agency now runs its creators' accounts from one inDM workspace. The rest of this page puts numbers on the objection in its message, and shows what one subscription covers.

What does a subscription per account cost an agency?

A whole plan for every account, and on these plans a contact allowance for every account as well. Two tools agencies compare us with work this way on their self-serve plans, and their own help centres say so:

  • ManyChat connects one Instagram account to each Manychat account. Its help centre says a second Instagram account needs a separate Manychat account, and that each Manychat account has its own settings and billing.
  • Inrō makes each connected Instagram account its own Inrō account. Its help centre says each one has its own plan, and that two accounts on Pro are two Pro subscriptions.

Here is what a roster costs a month on each, at monthly billing and before tax, read from each vendor's own pricing page on 5 November 2026:

Accounts inDM ManyChat Essential ManyChat Pro Inrō Pro
5 $14.99 Growth $85 $195 €64.95
10 $39 Agency Lite $170 $390 €129.90
15 $39 Agency Lite $255 $585 €194.85
30 $99 Agency Pro $510 $1,170 €389.70
40 $129 Agency Pro $680 $1,560 €519.60

Read each column with its unit. ManyChat's Essential is $17 a month per account and includes 250 active contacts a month on that account, then $0.10 for each one above. Its Pro is $39 per account with 2,500, then $0.05 each. Inrō's Pro starts at €12.99 a month per account for up to 500 activated contacts, and moves up a price band as an account activates more. So each figure above is the lowest that roster can cost there, and a busy client account costs more. inDM's plans count no messages and no contacts, so a client's reel taking off does not change the bill.

Two more facts belong beside this table:

  • Inrō's agency partner plan pools client accounts into one bill, according to the same help centre article. We found no published price for it on 5 November 2026.
  • A subscription per account is not the only other model. Several Instagram-only tools sell bundles of 3, 5 or 10 accounts on one plan, and at some roster sizes a bundle costs less than an inDM plan. The DM automation cost calculator prices every tool we track for any number of accounts, and how much Instagram DM automation costs an agency sets out all four pricing shapes.

Sources, each read on 5 November 2026: Manychat's pricing page, Manychat's help centre on managing accounts, Inrō's pricing page and Inrō's help centre on billing. Prices change, and the vendor's own page is the one that applies.

What does one inDM subscription cover?

Everything in Growth, on every account in the workspace:

  • Your client's brand alone in the DM. No inDM credit line on any message.
  • Who clicked each link, and the country they clicked from.
  • Up to 3 links in one automation, and a follow-up message 30 minutes to 20 hours later.
  • Templates. Save an automation that worked for one client and start it on the next. Only the post and the link change.
  • Broadcasts to an account's whole audience at once.
  • Your whole team, with no seat count.
  • The asks in your own words. On every agency plan you write the follow and email asks yourself, in any language. Left to us, they go out in the language the workspace is set to.

How do clients connect without sharing a password?

From a connect link. You type the client's Instagram handle and send them the link inDM makes for it. They open it, log in on Instagram's own screen and approve, and the account joins your workspace.

  • The link names one handle, works once and expires after seven days.
  • The client needs no inDM account and never sees your other clients.
  • The client can remove access at any time in Instagram's settings, under Apps and websites.
  • Connect links work on every plan. The plan decides only how many accounts the workspace holds.

The step-by-step guide with screenshots walks through it from both sides.

One workspace for every client

Every client's account sits in the same workspace, and you switch between them from the top bar. Each account keeps its own automations, contacts and numbers, so one client's results never mix with another's. When a contract ends, the client keeps their Instagram account, and the templates you saved stay in your workspace for the next client.

The honest boundary

  • One account on screen at a time. There is no combined dashboard across clients yet, so the totals are yours to add up.
  • No permissions per client. Everyone in the workspace sees every connected account.
  • The app is inDM. The DMs carry your client's brand alone, but the app itself is not white-labelled.
  • Instagram only. No WhatsApp, Messenger, TikTok or email.

If a combined dashboard or per-client permissions decides it for you, a tool that has them is the better fit today, and that is worth knowing before you pay rather than after.

Which plan fits your roster?

  • 1 account: Free, $0, no card.
  • Up to 5: Growth, 7 days free, then $14.99 a month. Cancel anytime.
  • Up to 15: Agency Lite, $39 a month.
  • More than 15: Agency Pro, $99 a month for 30 accounts, then $3 a month for each one after, with a dedicated account manager.

The agency plans are billed monthly, with any sales tax or VAT due added at checkout. Every plan is on the pricing page, and Instagram DM automation for agencies has the rest of what an agency workspace includes.

Good to know

Questions, answered plainly

Can an agency run Instagram DM automation without a subscription per account?

Yes. inDM puts every client's Instagram account in one workspace on one subscription. Agency Lite is $39 a month for up to 15 Instagram accounts, and Agency Pro is $99 a month for 30, then $3 a month for each account after that, with a dedicated account manager. Neither plan counts messages or contacts, and clients connect their own accounts from a link the agency sends, without sharing a password.

Does ManyChat charge a separate subscription for each Instagram account?

Yes. ManyChat's help centre, read on 5 November 2026, says each Manychat account connects one Instagram account, that a second Instagram account needs a separate Manychat account, and that each Manychat account has its own settings and billing. At monthly prices read the same day, Essential is $17 per account for 250 active contacts and Pro is $39 per account for 2,500, so 15 client accounts on Essential cost $255 a month before tax.

How much does inDM cost for 15 or 30 Instagram accounts?

Fifteen Instagram accounts fit on Agency Lite at $39 a month, in one workspace. Thirty fit on Agency Pro at $99 a month, and each account after 30 costs $3 a month, so 40 accounts cost $129 a month. Both plans include everything in Growth, count no messages or contacts, and take the whole team with no seat count. Agency Pro adds a dedicated account manager.

Can clients connect their Instagram to an agency's DM tool without sharing a password?

On inDM, yes. The agency sends each client a connect link for their handle. The client opens it, logs in on Instagram's own screen and approves, and the account joins the agency's workspace. The client needs no inDM account and never sees the agency's other clients. A link works once, for that one handle, and expires after seven days. The client can remove access any time in Instagram's settings, under Apps and websites.

What happens when an agency outgrows its inDM plan?

Agency Lite holds up to 15 Instagram accounts. Past that, Agency Pro holds 30 for $99 a month and never refuses an account: each one after 30 costs $3 a month. Every connected account, with its automations and contacts, stays in the same workspace when the plan changes.
