Yes. Instagram DM automation works on more than one account: one inDM login connects a single Instagram account on the free plan and unlimited accounts on Growth, under one bill. Each connected account keeps its own automations, its own contacts and its own numbers, and one automation never spans two accounts.

How many Instagram accounts can one inDM login connect?

One on the free plan, and any number on Growth.

Plan Instagram accounts Price
Free 1 $0
Growth Unlimited $4.99 the first month, then $14.99/month

There is no middle tier and no per-account fee, so the second account and the twentieth cost the same as each other: nothing beyond the one subscription. That is deliberate. Paying per seat is the thing that makes running a second account a decision instead of a habit, and we would rather you connected the account than did the arithmetic.

What Growth buys is two things at once, and account count is only half of it. The other half is that it removes app branding, so your DMs carry your name alone. Our pricing is the whole arrangement in one table.

Does one automation run on more than one account?

No. Every automation belongs to one connected account, and it only ever watches that account's posts.

This is the part people expect to work the other way round, so it is worth being plain about. If you run two accounts and want the same keyword working on both, you build the automation twice, once on each account. There is no switch that fans a single automation out across everything you have connected.

In practice that is less annoying than it sounds, because two accounts almost never want the same automation. The keyword, the public reply and the link that gets delivered are all things you would write differently for a fitness account and a food account. Where it does bite is the case where the accounts are near-identical, a brand running one account per city or per language, and there you are copying a setup by hand.

Do your contacts and your numbers stay separate?

Yes, completely. Each connected account has its own contact list, and somebody who engages with both of your accounts is two separate contacts.

That has one consequence worth knowing before it surprises you. "Never send the same person twice" works per account, not across your accounts. It is on by default, and on a single account it does what it says: somebody who comments your keyword on Monday and again on Friday gets one DM, not two. But it has no idea that the person it just messaged from your food account is the same person it messaged from your fitness account last week. From each account's side, that is a new name.

So the same follower can receive your DM once from each account they engage with. Nobody gets messaged twice for the same thing by the same account, which is the case that reads as spam. Two different accounts that a person deliberately followed is a different situation, and the honest answer is that we do not currently join them up.

Your numbers work the same way. The analytics screen shows the account you are looking at, not a total across all of them.

How do you switch between accounts?

From the switcher in the top bar. Pick an account and the whole app follows it: your content library, your automations, your contacts and your analytics all change to that account.

There is no all-accounts view. Everything in the app is scoped to whichever account is selected, which means checking three accounts is three switches rather than one screen. On the free plan the same control is where you add your first extra account, and it says so plainly rather than hiding the plan behind it.

Can more than one person run the same account?

Yes, and this is the question people usually mean when they ask about multiple accounts. It is a different thing from connecting more Instagram accounts, and it is free.

The owner can invite teammates by email, on either plan, with no cap on how many. Everyone invited sees the same connected accounts and the same automations. Invite management stays with the owner, so a teammate cannot add or remove other people.

One limit to know: a person can belong to one inDM login only. If somebody already has their own inDM login from signing up separately, they cannot also accept an invitation to yours. They would need to be invited to yours instead of having their own.

What do other tools charge for a second account?

Most of them charge by the account, which is the difference worth understanding before you compare monthly prices.

Two we have checked on their own pricing pages, both as of 2026-08-14:

Tool Free Then
LinkDM 1 account 3 accounts at $19/month, 10 at $99/month
ReplyRush 1 account 1 account at $10/month, 3 at $25/month, 5 at $100/month

Read those tables as ladders rather than prices. On both, the number of Instagram accounts is one of the things a higher tier sells you, so a fourth account is a tier change and a sixth might be another one. That is a normal way to price this and we are not going to pretend it is a scandal. It is simply a different shape from ours, where accounts are unlimited from the first paid tier and the only question is whether you want our name off your DMs.

Worth saying against ourselves: LinkDM's per-DM rate is genuinely cheaper than ours at high volume, because they meter DMs and we do not meter anything. If your one account sends hundreds of thousands of DMs a month, price is not the reason to pick us. Account count is.

The honest boundary: where this stops working

inDM is built around one account at a time, not around an agency dashboard. The switcher is real and it works, and unlimited accounts on Growth is a real plan term rather than a soft cap. But every screen in the app answers for the account you have selected, and the things a person managing twenty accounts wants are the things we have not built:

  • No combined view. No screen adds up DMs sent, contacts captured or click-through across all your accounts. You read them one at a time and do the addition yourself.
  • No copying an automation between accounts. Setting up the same funnel on five accounts is five builds. There is no duplicate-to-another-account button.
  • No contacts joined across accounts. As above, the same person is a separate contact on each account, and "never send the same person twice" cannot see across the boundary.
  • No per-account permissions. Teammates see every connected account. You cannot give somebody access to one account and not another.

So the honest recommendation splits by who is asking. A creator with a main account and a side project, or a business with a brand account and a founder account, will find this straightforward: connect both, build each one's automations once, switch when you need to. Somebody running client accounts as an agency should know that the plan will let them connect twenty and the app will make them feel like twenty. That is not what we built, and if the combined view and the per-client permissions are what you need, a tool built for agencies is the better answer today.

We would rather tell you that before you pay than after.

What this changes for the second account you are about to add

Connect it, then treat it as a fresh start rather than a copy. Build its automations from scratch with keywords and links that suit that audience, and expect to check its numbers on their own screen. If both accounts serve genuinely different people, that is the right way round anyway. If they serve the same people, the thing to watch is that a follower on both can hear from both, and only you can decide whether that is a welcome or a repeat.
