Conversation
Why it matters for creators
Conversations and messages are not the same count, and the gap between them is where pricing confusion lives.
One conversation is usually one message. Meta allows a single private reply to a comment, within 7 days of it, and that reply can carry the link on a button. It becomes two only when the creator adds an opening DM or a gate, which holds the link back until somebody taps. One conversation either way, one person helped.
That means a 10,000-message allowance is roughly 5,000 delivered links on any message-metered plan. It is worth doing that arithmetic before comparing two prices, because a tool quoting conversations and a tool quoting messages are not quoting the same thing.
The arithmetic only matters where somebody is counting. inDM does not meter messages on either plan, so there is no allowance here to divide by two: what "unlimited" actually means on a free plan sets out where the catch usually hides when a tool says it. On every metered competitor the conversion above still applies, and it is the first thing to check when one plan looks cheaper than another.
Conversation stays the better word for value. It is what the audience experiences, and it is what analytics should report.
