Meta Tech Provider

A Meta Tech Provider is a company Meta has vetted to build tools on its platforms — including the Instagram API — on behalf of businesses and creators. Providers register with Meta, pass app review for the permissions they use, and must follow Meta's platform policies to keep that access.

Why it matters for creators

When you connect your account to an automation tool, you're trusting it with your DMs. Tech Provider status tells you the tool went through Meta's registration and app review for the permissions it holds, and that it operates inside the official API — the access Meta actually built for this.

The honest boundary: Tech Provider status is vetting, not endorsement. Meta doesn't certify or recommend automation tools, so treat "Meta-approved" claims with suspicion. What you can check is real: whether a tool connects through Instagram's own login flow rather than asking for your password.
