Trigger rate
Why it matters for creators
Trigger rate is the earliest place a DM funnel fails, and the least examined. Everything downstream can be perfect while most of your engagement never enters the funnel at all.
A low rate almost always means a keyword mismatch. You asked people to comment GUIDE and they commented "guide please", "GUIDE!!", "send guide" — or they read the caption, wanted the thing, and simply commented "yes". Case is usually handled for you; punctuation, extra words and plausible synonyms often are not unless you add them.
The number only makes sense against a like-for-like denominator. Dividing triggers by comments alone reads above 100% for anyone also running story-reply or keyword-DM automations, since those fire on engagement that was never a comment. Counting every inbound event on the bottom keeps it honest, and it can never exceed 1 because each event fires at most one automation.
