Why it matters for creators

This is the difference between a two-minute setup and an afternoon of Business Manager, and most creators hit it without knowing there were two routes.

The older path, Facebook Login for Business, requires the Instagram account to be connected to a Facebook Page, which in turn often means a Business Manager account. For a creator who has never wanted a Facebook presence, that is a real barrier, and it is the reason so many automation setup guides open with several steps that have nothing to do with Instagram.

Instagram Login removes that requirement: you connect with the Instagram account itself. If a tool's onboarding starts by asking you to link or create a Facebook Page, it is built on the older path. That is not a sign of a bad product, but it is worth knowing that the requirement comes from which login route the tool chose rather than from anything Instagram demands of you.
